Communications and electronic security
We work with owners, general contractors, electrical contractors, consultants, property teams and other project stakeholders on new construction, renovations, expansions and technology upgrades involving Division 27 communications and Division 28 electronic safety and security systems.
Construction specifications organize work by division. CIP maps its installation capabilities to the actual package, not to every item in a specification division. Scope, interfaces and commissioning responsibilities are reviewed before pricing.
Division 27 / Communications
- Commercial structured cabling, including Cat6 and Cat6A where specified.
- Fibre optic cabling and testing for commercial, industrial and construction projects.
- Network infrastructure, racks, cabinets, patching and related low-voltage pathways.
- Wi-Fi and network deployment, including fit-outs and multi-site rollouts.
- Applicable AV, paging, intercom and communications infrastructure, subject to the project specification.
Division 28 / Electronic Safety & Security
- Commercial video surveillance and IP camera/CCTV infrastructure.
- Access control and electronic entry systems.
- Intercom integration and related electronic security cabling.
- Installation, integration, testing and commissioning of the agreed security scope.
- Coordination of system interfaces; intrusion and other specialist packages require individual scope review.

Subcontract and integration support spans new construction, renovations, expansions, office and industrial fit-outs, technology refreshes, field deployment and multi-site rollouts. Troubleshooting, testing and commissioning are defined against the agreed scope.

What is Division 27?
Division 27 is the CSI/MasterFormat construction-specification category commonly used for communications systems. CIP supports structured cabling, fibre, network infrastructure, Wi-Fi and applicable AV and communications infrastructure. The drawings and specifications determine the scope of each project.
What is Division 28?
Division 28 covers electronic safety and security systems. CIP supports applicable video surveillance, access control and electronic entry/intercom infrastructure. This does not mean CIP supplies every Division 28 system; fire alarm and other specialist life-safety scopes are not offered by this page.
Does CIP work with general and electrical contractors?
Yes. CIP provides complementary subcontract installation, field deployment, integration, testing and commissioning support for general contractors and electrical contractors, with responsibilities agreed during scope review.
